What SkyCentrics is doing
SkyCentrics runs automated load-shift controls on the QAHV, loading up the heat pump water heater in the middle of the day when electricity prices are low. By reducing runtime during the peak 4–9 PM period, the system avoids peak demand charges and higher time-of-use rates while still keeping the central hot water tanks fully charged for residents.
